Uses Of Nervigesic 75 mg Capsules

Nevigesic 75 mg capsules are prescribed as a neuropathic pain treatment for diabetes, spinal cord injury, and shingles (a viral infection causing painful rash). It is also recommended to treat muscle stiffness and pain caused by fibromyalgia.

Nervigesic capsules belong to the anticonvulsants drug class and are used as a seizure or epilepsy treatment in combination with other medications. In addition, it is also prescribed as anxiety disorder treatment in cases where other treatment options are not suited.

Working Mechanism of Nervigesic Capsules

The Nervigesic capsules work by binding to the calcium channels in the central nervous system and the brain. The calcium channels are proteins found in the CNS and play a critical role in the release of neurotransmitters.

The binding reduces the secretion of neurotransmitters such as glutamate and noradrenaline, which helps in lowering the transmission of pain signals. • For Fibromyalgia and Restless Legs Syndrome (off-label), the maximum prescribed dosage is 450 mg per day.

• For Epilepsy or seizure and Neuropathic Pain, one can take up to 600 mg per day.

Missed Dosage of Nervigesic 75mg

If you have missed a dosage of Nervigesic 75 mg, it is best to take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double up on doses to make up for a missed one.

Alternative Doses

Nervigesic capsules are also available in two other dosage strengths.

1. Nervigesic 150 mg- The Nervigesic 150 mg is the most recommended dosage for beginners for treating neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia.
2. Nervigesic 300 mg- The Nervigesic 300 mg is the highest available dosage of this anticonvulsant and is recommended in severe cases.

Direction Of Use

• Swallow the medication with water without breaking or crushing it.

• As this medication can be habit-forming, do not take it more than prescribed by your doctor.

• Taking the medication at the same time every day will help in achieving better results.

• It can be taken before or after a meal.

Contraindications

Side Effects
